A Free Online Dice Roller for D&D and Tabletop RPGs
The FateWheel DnD Dice Roller rolls every die a tabletop game needs — d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and percentile d100 — right in your browser. Build any combination, add a modifier, and get the total with a clear breakdown of each die, so your group can trust every result.
It is built for real play at the table: roll a single d20 for an attack or saving throw, stack 8d6 for a Fireball, or roll a fresh set of ability scores in one tap. Nothing to install, no account, and no waiting — just fast, fair dice.
Understanding Dice Notation (XdY+Z)
Tabletop rules use shorthand like 3d6+2. The first number is how many dice you roll, the letter "d" means "die," and the second number is how many sides each die has — so 3d6 means "roll three six-sided dice." Anything after a + or − is a flat modifier added to (or subtracted from) the total. For example, an attack written as 1d20+5 means "roll one twenty-sided die and add five."
How the Dice Roller Works
Pick your dice
Tap d4 through d100 to add dice to your roll — tap a die again to roll more of the same (for example 2d6).
Add a modifier
Enter a + or − modifier for ability checks, attacks, and saving throws, and toggle Advantage or Disadvantage for d20 rolls.
Roll and read
Hit Roll for the total plus a per-die breakdown, with your full roll history kept right below the result.

Ten-sided die — also paired to roll percentiles.
d12 — Dodecahedron
Twelve-sided die — the greataxe's damage die.
d20 — Icosahedron
The star of D&D — attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws.
d100 — Percentile

Frequently Asked Questions
How do advantage and disadvantage work?
Advantage rolls two d20s and keeps the higher result; disadvantage keeps the lower. Toggle it on and the roller does the math for you and shows both dice, so everyone at the table can see the result is fair.
How do I roll for D&D ability scores?
Use the "4d6 drop lowest" preset. It rolls four six-sided dice, discards the lowest, and sums the rest — repeated six times to generate a full set of ability scores for a new character.
Is this dice roller actually random?
Yes. Every die uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), so each result is unbiased and unpredictable — fairer than a chipped or weighted physical die.
Can I roll several different dice at once?
Absolutely. Build any mix — for example 2d6 + 1d8 + 3 — and the roller totals everything while still showing each individual die, so nothing is hidden.
What do d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 and d100 mean?
The number after the "d" is how many sides the die has. A d20 is the twenty-sided die used for most D&D rolls; a d100 (percentile) rolls 1–100. See the dice reference below for what each die is normally used for.
Do I need an account, an app, or to pay?
No. The FateWheel dice roller is 100% free, needs no sign-up, installs nothing, and works instantly in any browser on mobile or desktop.
